About My Work
I began working seriously with landscapes created with pastels in 1993. I specialize in regional landscapes, river and lakes scenes and sky scenes. I enjoy traveling to areas where I can learn about the landscape first hand, camping and canoing where possible, and to live in an environment while painting it.
Working with Pastels
Skyscenes
Sometimes a scene will just appear in front of me as thought it really were there. So I paint it!
This scene is one of many that just "happen by themselves" in my studeo. This is a small piece approximately 11x14 framed and matted under glass. One of a kind.During a recent trip to visit my brother, I had the pleasure of taking my morning coffee in this Adirondack chair on Cardinal Lake outside of Duluth, Georgia, after which my husband John and I would canoe around the lake to enjoy the wildlife and the peaceful gift of the morning. The painting entitled, "Morning Repose," now belongs to the friend and neighbor who built this wonderful deck on his lakefront property and was gracious enough to share this spot and his canoes during our visit, making our trip one of the most relaxing and memorable times of my life. I enjoy visiting friends and relatives around the world to create my interpretations of the beauty I find there and to share them with my hosts and their community.
